Director, Head-Chef and Teacher Loretta Liu has over 20 years experience including working with Michelin-starred chefs. Her last
place of work was Le Manoir aux Quat’ Saisons. One of her favourite Chefs that she had worked under is Pierre Gagnaire. She was
trained at the Valrhorna Chocolate school in the later part of her food journey after leaving the hot kitchen. She enjoys working
with Valrhorna chocolate and Original Bean chocolate in her classes and her own patisseries.
She decided to start On Cookery Club in 2011. A social enterprise whose proceeds are contributed to various local youth charities.
Even after going through a difficult childhood, she feels blessed her life has since turned for the better. She believes that one must never lose
hope and wishes to help others to be given as many opportunities that have been bestowed onto her.
“The school is self-funded through the classes it holds and the classes have since increased in double the size from when it started. The
growth is steady and organics. With the support of the students who have attend our school and Groupon who has supported our
classes, we have been able to continue our project. I will like to one day establish a bigger school, to be able to train more young
adults who are keen to work in the food industry. This is just On Cookery’s baby steps towards a bigger project.” Chef Loretta
